Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, emphasized that the “Balkan destination” concept—based on the principle of “my guest is your guest”—offers an opportunity for every country in the region to benefit.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Kordić explained that regional similarities enable a unified tourism strategy, while the distinct characteristics of each country promise foreign visitors an authentic and enriching travel experience.

“Modern tourists, especially those coming from distant locations, are not looking to spend all their time in one place,” Kordić noted. “They are likely to visit multiple countries during their trip, not just different places within Montenegro.”

She added that this is precisely why Montenegro has started fostering closer cooperation with neighboring countries.
