A panel titled “China and Montenegro: Shared Opportunities for Development and New Friendships” took place in Podgorica, gathering representatives from Montenegrin institutions, educational establishments, media and other organizations. The event aimed to connect participants from various sectors of Montenegrin society who visited China this year and participated in exchange programs, allowing them to share their insights and experiences.

Despite their differences in population, size and economic structures, both nations share a common path of modernization while preserving cultural identity. Fanqing highlighted key projects, such as the Bar-Boljare highway and the Možura wind farm, that underscore the cooperation between China and Montenegro, emphasizing their significance for Montenegrin infrastructure and energy sectors.

Former President Filip Vujanović also attended the panel, emphasizing the importance of equality and respect in China’s international relations. He noted that the collaboration has yielded concrete results, including the renewal of Montenegro’s trading fleet, which enhances maritime capabilities and opens avenues for further cooperation in transport and trade.

This year, five students from the University of Montenegro visited several Chinese cities, experiencing the warmth and openness of their hosts.

Mirsada Bošnjak, State Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Investment Development, presented Montenegro’s investment opportunities during her visit to China, inviting Chinese investors to explore economic partnerships. Meanwhile, Samir Agović, President of the Petnjica Municipality, signed a friendship agreement with Dezouh in Shandong Province, aiming to foster collaboration in culture, sports and youth.

Finally, a group of Montenegrin journalists who visited China shared their impressions, highlighting the friendly and welcoming nature of the Chinese people.
