Data from Monstat reveals that the index of service sector sales surged by 38.2% in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of the year.
Year-on-year, the index for the service sector increased by 8.6%.
In the wholesale and retail trade sector, including motor vehicles and motorcycles, the index rose by 7.3% compared to the same period last year, and by 33.5% from the first quarter of this year.
The transportation and storage sector saw a 4.7% increase year-on-year and a 45.1% rise from the first quarter.
The accommodation and food service sector experienced a significant boost, with the index up by 14.9% from the previous year and a substantial 105.9% increase compared to the first quarter of 2024.
For the information and communication sector, the index grew by 13.4% year-on-year and by 4.7% compared to the previous quarter.
