The process of finalizing the new margin restriction decision is nearing completion and will encompass a broader range of products than the previous “Price Limits” decision, according to Nik Đeljošaj, the Vice President of the Government for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development.

Đeljošaj explained that about ten days ago, margin limits were introduced on five essential food items. He reminded that a new decision is being prepared to extend margin controls to hundreds of additional products, following consumer research.

“The new decision will cover more items than the previous ‘Price Limits’ regulation. It will come into effect once the necessary legal procedures are completed, approved by the government, and published in the Official Gazette,” Đeljošaj said.

He emphasized that all efforts are being coordinated as per Prime Minister Milojko Spajić’s announcements.

“Our aim is to elevate our citizens’ living standards and achieve comprehensive economic development using modern and European approaches,” Đeljošaj added.

He also remarked that the public’s concern for living standards is highly encouraging.

“It is evident that the 44th Government of Montenegro has made significant efforts to maintain living standards, curb price increases, and simultaneously raise wages and pensions,” Đeljošaj concluded.
