The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has recently published an updated list of companies with blocked accounts, which now includes 77 more firms than the previous report. This list comprises information about approximately 20,790 companies registered in the Central Registry of Business Entities (CRPS) and the CBCG.

Out of the total number of blocked companies, 3,470 are recorded in the CBCG’s records but are not listed in the CRPS. According to the Law on Payment Operations, the CBCG is required to regularly publish data regarding the enforcement collection process, including the names of companies, their identification numbers, the amounts of the account blocks, and the duration of the blocks.

However, the CBCG does not disclose identification numbers for entrepreneurs, as these are recorded in the Central Register of Transaction Accounts under the unique identification number (JMB) of individuals, the publication of which does not comply with the Law on Personal Data Protection.

Data is published monthly on the CBCG website, on the first working day following the end of the month, with a snapshot of the situation as of the last day of the month, arranged in alphabetical order by the names of the companies and entrepreneurs.

The CBCG began publishing this data in July 2012, and from that date until January 9, 2014, information was made available only for companies with account blocks exceeding 10,000 EUR that lasted more than 30 days.
