According to MONSTAT, the average gross salary in Montenegro for August was €1,080, while the average net salary amounted to €861.
The net salary saw a 1.2% increase compared to July, and a significant rise of 7.8% compared to August of the previous year. Considering that consumer prices increased by 0.4% from July to August, real wages grew by 0.8% during the same period.
In terms of sectors, net salaries rose in several areas, including:
- Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles: +3.0%
- Financial activities and insurance: +2.3%
- Information and communication: +2.1%
- Agriculture, forestry and fishing: +1.9%
- Construction: +1.9%
- Transport and storage: +1.7%
- Other service activities: +1.7%
- Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply: +1.5%
- Professional, scientific and technical activities: +1.5%
- Accommodation and food services: +1.2%
- Water Supply; waste management and similar activities: +0.8%
- Education: +0.8%
- Real estate activities: +0.7%
- Public administration and defense; mandatory social security: +0.7%
- Arts, entertainment and recreation: +0.6%
- Administrative and support service activities: +0.3%
Conversely, net salaries decreased in specific sectors:
- Health and social care: -1.6%
- Mining and quarrying: -0.6%
- Manufacturing industry: -0.1%
