European Union (EU) officials have expressed their intention to invest hundreds of millions of euros in Montenegro to support its economic growth and innovation. This announcement came during a meeting between Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Herta Jan Kopman, the EU’s General Director for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

Kopman, leading a delegation from the European Commission, engaged with Montenegrin government representatives to discuss strategies for enhancing innovation and attracting foreign investment. Key focus areas include transportation, renewable energy, IT and agriculture, with particular emphasis on drawing in new European investors.

“The goal is to capitalize on Montenegro’s potential and develop a more efficient system for foreign investment,” Kopman said. “Montenegro is a future EU member, and we are committed to investing several hundred million euros into the country. This must be our shared priority.”

Prime Minister Spajić outlined the country’s reform efforts and presented the Fiscal Strategy, designed to make Montenegro a more competitive and attractive destination for investment. “We have a clear plan and seek tangible results. With the EU as our most significant partner, our success is guaranteed,” Spajić remarked.
