The Traffic Authority has announced a new tender for the remaining work on the Rožaje bypass construction, with a project value of 10 million euros excluding VAT, or approximately 12.1 million euros including VAT.

The second phase of the bypass is 2.6 kilometers long and will connect the Berane-Rožaje main road at the Dimiškin location with the previously built first phase and the regional road Rožaje-Peć at the Crnja location.

The Traffic Authority reminds that part of the work was previously carried out by the company Euro-asfalt and its partners, but the contract was later terminated.

The bypass around Rožaje is being constructed to redirect transit traffic away from the city center.

The proposed deadline for completing the works is between 350 and 450 calendar days from the contractor’s mobilization. The previous tender, announced in late September, was canceled as no bids were received.

Earlier, two tenders were announced with a total value of around 8 million euros, but due to a lack of interest in the project, the amount was raised to 12 million euros. Despite this price increase, no contractor was selected. The Traffic Authority previously informed RTCG that the deadline for the previous tender was extended by 20 days due to interest from several companies. However, no bids were submitted, and the process has now been restarted.
