Low-cost airline Ryanair will not make substantial increases to its flight schedule from Podgorica Airport. As previously announced, the company plans to implement significant cuts to its flights from Montenegro’s largest airport. After negotiations with ACG Director Roko Tolić, it was decided only to increase the number of weekly flights to London.

According to Zamaero, Tolić’s discussions with Ryanair were not particularly successful, as he was unable to restore last year’s flight routes. Throughout the past year, Ryanair operated nine weekly flights on four routes: two flights each to Berlin, Gdańsk, and Kraków, and three flights to London.

In the winter of 2022/23, the airline operated 16 weekly flights on seven routes. However, the situation this winter is markedly different. Ryanair will only fly to London, starting with five flights in the first week of the winter schedule (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday). In the second week, the schedule will drop to three flights (with Tuesday and Friday services canceled), followed by just two weekly flights (Monday and Saturday).

This reduced schedule will remain until December 20, when five flights will be reinstated (daily except Wednesday and Thursday). This arrangement will last for one month, after which three flights will be scheduled weekly.

It’s important to note that Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić and Montenegro Airport Director Roko Tolić recently announced plans to initiate active negotiations with low-cost airlines to expand flight networks to Montenegro, aiming to enhance connectivity with key European destinations.
