Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) and Podgorica’s 13. jul – Plantaže have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance their collaboration on renewable energy projects. This partnership aims to increase the share of electricity from renewable sources, improve energy efficiency and support the broader energy transition.
The key initiatives outlined in the MoU include the installation of photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of Plantaže’s facilities, with a planned capacity of approximately 740 kW, and on land areas with a planned capacity of around 5.69 MW.
The agreement was formalized by the executive directors of both companies, Ivan Bulatović of EPCG and Igor Čađenović of Plantaže.
Bulatović praised Plantaže for joining the Solari 5000+ project and encouraged other leading companies to engage in similar renewable energy and efficiency projects with EPCG.
“EPCG has already installed over 40 MW of photovoltaic systems, and we aim to exceed 70 MW by year-end. Collaborating with significant partners like Plantaže will help us reach this goal and is essential for advancing our energy transition efforts,” Bulatović noted.
Čađenović expressed enthusiasm about the MoU, highlighting the importance of this collaboration between two major state-owned companies in the renewable energy sector.
“Plantaže’s annual electricity consumption amounts to around one million euros. Our joint projects with EPCG will enhance the company’s operations and contribute positively to the overall energy sector in Montenegro,” Čađenović commented.
EPCG is committed to partnering with reliable entities to ensure a stable and sustainable electricity supply, prioritizing renewable sources to foster national economic growth.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Ljubiša Đurković, EPCG’s Technical Director, and Goran Milić, Director of Legal and General Affairs at Plantaže.
