Montenegro’s April salary trends: A sectoral analysis

In April, the average pre-tax and pre-contribution salary reached 828 EUR, marking a 0.4% increase from the previous month. Monstat data indicates a 5.3% year-on-year growth in the average net salary for the same period.

The average gross salary for April stood at 1,036 EUR.

Taking into account a 0.1% rise in consumer prices from March to April, real wages saw a 0.3% increase during this period.

Across various sectors, average net salaries experienced growth in water supply; waste management; agriculture, forestry, and fishing; construction; wholesale and retail trade; as well as repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.

Additionally, sectors such as public administration and defense; compulsory social security; information and communication; health and social work; electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply; accommodation and food service activities; financial and insurance activities; and mining and quarrying also saw salary increases.

However, some sectors experienced a decrease in net wages compared to the previous month, including professional, scientific, and technical activities; real estate activities; manufacturing industry; transportation and storage; other service activities; administrative and support service activities; education; and arts, entertainment, and recreation.
