According to the released document, the shipyard occupies a total area of 12 hectares, including 35,000 m² of marine waters. The construction area for the planned works spans 96,918.68 m², with a total built-up area under structures of 25,248 m². The remaining space includes vehicular and pedestrian passages, handling areas and docks. The site currently shows signs of neglect, including machinery inside the halls. The complex comprises 49 buildings, housing administrative, production and ancillary facilities such as offices, training centers, canteens, warehouses, workshops, a substation and other supporting structures.

The second phase involves the reconstruction and adaptation of existing structures and the construction of new ones. Planned renovations include hall R1, adaptation of hall R2, warehouse WH, transport hall, and complete reconstruction or adaptation of hall R3. There are also plans for adapting the compressor station CS, acetylene station, canteen and infrastructure. The project includes building a new gatehouse at the existing location and constructing a water treatment facility.

The document recalls that the Adriatic Shipyard Bijela, formerly the largest ship repair yard in the southern Adriatic, was established in 1927. Over the years, it has accumulated extensive experience and significant human, professional, and technical capacities for repairing and reconstructing ships and other vessels up to 120,000 tons.

Now operated by a consortium led by Adriatic Marinas-Porto Montenegro and DryDocks World Dubai under the name Adriatic 42, the aim is to transform Bijela into a premier location for the maintenance and repair of superyachts, enhancing Montenegro’s reputation in this sector. The new facility is named Remontni centar Bijela – a facility for building, repairing, and maintaining ships, yachts, and megayachts.

The concession has been granted for 30 years, with investments expected to amount to tens of millions of euros for the project.
