Montenegro’s Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević met with UK Ambassador Don Macan to discuss strengthening air connectivity between the two countries and the growing presence of British airlines in Montenegro.

She highlighted progress made with carriers EasyJet and Jet2.com, whose seasonal operations now extend from late March to late October, bringing record numbers of British passengers to Tivat Airport. Podgorica also remains connected year-round with London through Ryanair, ensuring stable and affordable access to one of Europe’s key markets.

In the first seven months of this year, EasyJet and Jet2.com recorded 27% growth compared to 2024, showing that the ministry’s new incentive scheme is already delivering results. Confirmed flights for 2026 indicate further growth ahead.

Vukićević said Montenegro aims to attract not only low-cost but also major network airlines to strengthen links with European and global hubs. She noted that talks are underway with another major UK carrier.
