Montenegro and China maintain good relations with room for growth, especially in tourism, Montenegro’s key economic sector, said Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić.
She highlighted strong growth in Chinese tourist arrivals over recent years, noting a 60% increase in overnight stays last year compared to the previous year.
Kordić informed the Chinese delegation that Montenegro currently holds the presidency of the UN World Tourism Organization’s Europe Commission, opening opportunities for cooperation given China’s significant role in the organization.
She emphasized investment potential in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) and health tourism, believing quality investments and enhanced cooperation between the two countries’ tourism industries can boost development and promotion.
Vice Governor Song Junji described Shandong province as an important industrial center and stressed the value of investing in tourism and promoting the sector. Encouraged by his impressions of Montenegro, he pledged to motivate businesses and investors to visit Montenegro and encourage travel agencies to include it in their offerings.
