Luštica could strengthen its position as a high-end nautical destination under proposed changes to Montenegro’s coastal temporary-facilities program.
The plans identify three mooring sites in Trašte Bay for vessels measuring up to 30, 60 and 100 metres. A separate restricted anchorage, covering no more than 3,000 square metres and equipped with four buoys, is also envisaged for larger yachts. These facilities would be located outside Luštica Marina and arranged to avoid interference with maritime traffic and existing underwater infrastructure.
Onshore proposals include two swimming pools with a combined area of roughly 890 square metres, open-air cinemas, event domes, hospitality venues, a children’s playground and charging facilities for electric vehicles. Several pontoons and platforms would provide additional access and short-term berthing for boats.
The program also covers five bathing areas along approximately 820 metres of coastline between Velja Spila, Oblatno and Luštica. They include public, family-oriented, hotel, party and “romantic” beach zones.
However, the document establishes planning possibilities rather than authorising construction. Detailed studies and approvals from maritime authorities would still be required. It also provides no investment figures, construction timetable or confirmed investors.
