Boris Mugoša, a representative of the European Union and a member of the Social Democrats (SD), has stated that little is being done to improve Montenegro’s economy.

“While we hear stories about reality and fairytales about living standards, almost nothing is being done to improve the quality of our economy,” Mugoša wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

He pointed out that the coverage of imports by exports was at its lowest in the past 15 years, only 15.1%.

“There is also the largest foreign trade deficit in the last 15 years, around 3.5 billion EUR,” Mugoša wrote, commenting on the data from Monstat regarding foreign trade exchange in the previous year.
