The payment of January pensions will be made on February 20, and pensioners will receive an increase of 6.85%, announced Vladimir Drobnjak, the director of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO), for the RTCG Portal.

“With the pension adjustment for January 1, 2025, pensioners will receive an increase of 6.85%, which is higher than the increases throughout the entire previous year,” said Drobnjak.

This increase does not apply to minimum pensions, which will remain at 450 euros until the end of 2025 in accordance with the law.

“The amount of the increase for each individual depends on the December pension received, meaning the increase for all beneficiaries is individualized,” said Drobnjak.

He added that a pension of 730 euros is close to the threshold for those who will receive an increase of 50 euros.

“Anyone with a pension amount above this will receive an increase greater than 50 euros, while those below this amount will receive less than 50 euros. For example, a pension of 1,000 euros will receive an increase of 68.5 euros,” said Drobnjak.

As a result, pensioners with an average pension of 520 euros will see their pensions rise by 35.6 euros.
