IFC and Montenegro to deepen cooperation on strategic development projects

Alfonso Garcia Mora, IFC’s Regional Vice President for Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, praised the successful cooperation with Montenegro and expressed readiness to deepen engagement in new areas.

During a meeting with Montenegro’s Finance Minister, Novica Vuković, they discussed strategic projects in tourism and infrastructure aimed at economic diversification. Special attention was given to the ongoing airport concession process, where IFC serves as the government’s advisor.

Vuković thanked IFC for its legal and technical support, emphasizing that the involvement of IFC experts has been crucial in ensuring transparency, legality, and quality throughout the tender process. He highlighted the value of partnerships with international institutions like IFC in bringing expertise and best practices to the management of public resources and strategic infrastructure.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the results so far and a shared commitment to further cooperation on projects supporting Montenegro’s sustainable development and economic growth.
