The luxury mini cruise ship Emerald Azzurra has arrived at Portonovi Marina, marking a historic milestone as the first international mini passenger ship to dock in Herceg Novi. This event officially opens a new chapter in the development of luxury and nautical tourism in the area.

Portonovi Marina recently received official approval to accommodate mini luxury cruise ships up to 140 meters in length and 200 passengers, making Herceg Novi a new destination on the ultra-luxury Adriatic cruise map. The marina has met all technical and security requirements, including ISPS standards, and staff have been certified accordingly.

The Emerald Azzurra, built in 2022, is a 110-meter superyacht cruise ship with 50 cabins, most featuring private terraces, accommodating up to 100 guests. It offers high-end amenities including a restaurant, lounge, spa, gym, sun deck, and private marina platform for water activities. Its limited capacity and exclusive features provide a personalized and intimate cruising experience, perfectly matching Portonovi’s luxury profile.

Local officials emphasize that this development will boost tourism and the local economy by attracting high-profile visitors and opening opportunities for new businesses and jobs. The full potential of this luxury cruise segment is expected to grow from 2026 onward.
