The final, eighth foundation for the Gvozd wind farm has been completed, marking a major milestone in one of Montenegro’s largest energy infrastructure projects, valued at over €80 million. Located on hilly terrain between Nikšić and Šavnik, the wind farm will significantly support the country’s transition to green energy.

Construction is in its final stages, with concrete work on the eighth turbine foundation complete and access road earthworks finished. The project is being executed by Bemax, the company behind Montenegro’s Krnovo and Možura wind farms. Up to 25 heavy machines are currently on site, and upcoming work will focus on laying cables connecting the turbines to the future Gvozd substation.

Of the total 7.5 km of cables, 2.5 km have been installed so far, while drainage channels are nearly complete. The wind farm will feature eight turbines, generating approximately 150 GWh of electricity annually—enough to power over 25,000 households—while reducing CO₂ emissions and advancing Montenegro’s renewable energy goals.
