The Podgorica-based investor Green Gvozd WPP Second Phase has received approval from Montenegro’s Environmental Protection Agency confirming that an environmental impact assessment will not be required for the construction of the Gvozd 2 Wind Power Plant, consisting of turbines T1, T2, and T4 with a total capacity of 21 MW.

According to the Agency’s decision, the project must operate in line with technical standards and safety regulations, implementing all environmental protection measures specified in the submitted documentation.

The wind turbines will be built in the cadastral municipalities of Gradačka Poljana and Ćeranića Gora in the Nikšić area, near the existing Krnovo and Gvozd wind farms. The project includes the construction of an internal 33 kV underground cable network, an optical network, access roads, and infrastructure for turbine assembly, all connected to the planned Gvozd substation.

As previously announced by EPCG, the expansion will add three new wind turbines, increasing annual power generation to over 210 GWh, enough to supply electricity to more than 35,000 households.
