There is a significant interest of German investors in investing in Montenegro, especially in renewable energy sources and waste management, announced German Ambassador Peter Felten at a meeting in the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).
As announced by the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), Felten met with Chamber President Nina Drakić and Vice President Pavlo D. Radovanović.
This is the first visit of Ambassador Felten to the Chamber of Commerce, who has only been in office for a few months, so it was an opportunity to familiarize himself with the organization and significant activities of the umbrella business association on improving the business environment, promotion and internationalization of Montenegrin business, the role in the development of the education system and the process of accession to the European Union.
– The Chamber is a real partner for improving cooperation with foreign economies and companies – emphasized President Drakić.
She pointed to the very good cooperation of the Chamber with German partners on the realization of important projects in the previous period – DIHK, GIZ, KfW Bank and others.
– We are grateful for Germany’s support for the development of the Montenegrin economy – she said.
Presenting the priority sectors of development of the Montenegrin economy, Drakić emphasized the intention to attract more investments in production activities – industry, agriculture, energy, as well as in the IT sector.
Vice President Radovanović said that the Chamber uses the best practices of its colleagues from Germany and Austria in its work, especially emphasizing its role in the promotion of investments. He announced a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce with representatives of diplomatic and consular missions for the beginning of next year, where investment potentials and the state of the Montenegrin economy will be presented.
– The Embassy encourages the cooperation of companies. We want to find with you the best way to connect them, either through the organization of conferences or business forums, in order to achieve concrete results of the meeting of the businessmen of our two countries – said Ambassador Felten.
According to him, there is a significant interest of German investors in investing in Montenegro, especially in renewable energy sources and waste management, and what they insist on is political stability and organized spatial planning documentation.
– We are interested in progress in the adoption of the Law on Waste Management and the German GIZ can provide significant support in its implementation – he said.
The ambassador points out that in Germany there are a lot of private companies that deal with waste management, so he was interested in whether there is a perspective for such investments in this area.
During the meeting, the arrival of Lidl in our country was also discussed. The ambassador emphasized the great role played by this German chain of stores in promoting the products of the country in which it operates and beyond its borders, through placement through the international network of its stores, local media writes.
