Despite the price increase of up to 20% compared to last year, Budva will be one of the more affordable destinations on the Adriatic.
This was said by the director of the Budva Tourism Organization, Nemanja Kuljača. He expects a very successful tourist season, bearing in mind the announcements of tourism officials, as well as the announced air connection with emission markets.
Kuljača said that, although the prices of many products have increased many times over the past year, restaurateurs and providers of private accommodation, as well as hoteliers, have made an effort to make Budva competitive, because a lot is expected from the upcoming summer season, above all to surpass the record 2019.
In addition to natural beauty and a wide range of modern contents and manifestations, the type of accommodation also plays a major role in the quality of vacation. In Budva, including its hinterland, there are 32,000 beds in rooms, apartments, houses and villas for rent, while in the area from Jaz beach to Buljarica beach, there are currently over 140 hotels active, more than half of which are highly categorized with four and five stars. For the needs of MICE (congress) tourism, most have large congress halls specially equipped for this type of service, and there are other facilities such as SPA and wellness centers, outdoor pools, green oases, small boutique hotels and tourist resorts with children’s playgrounds – he pointed out.
According to him, for the upcoming season, it is expected that the prices of certain hotel services will be adjusted by seven to 20% more compared to last year, considering the economic situation and trends in tourism.
In three-star hotels, prices will be from 28 to 46 EUR per person, in four-star hotels from 37 to 140 EUR, and in five-star hotels from 160 to 270 EUR per person on a bed and breakfast basis. The prices refer to standard double rooms and depend on the availability of capacity in a certain period.
In private accommodation, prices in a double room will range from 20 to 50 euros per person during the summer season, and the rent of an apartment for a family of four will be from 50 euros and up, all depending on the category and location of the facility – said Kuljača. Optimism about the success of the Kuljača season is justified by the information they have from the Airport.
According to the information highlighted on the official website of the Airport of Montenegro, Montenegro is connected to the following destinations by regular and summer flights, as well as by charter flights via the airports in Tivat and Podgorica: Sweden, Germany, Estonia, Israel, Poland, Lithuania, Switzerland, Luxembourg , Slovenia, Serbia, Norway, France, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Finland, Turkey, Moldova, Denmark, Great Britain, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Spain, Armenia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Greece, Slovakia, Belgium and Hungary, noting that announcements are subject to change – said Kuljača.
Restaurateur and owner of a popular Old Town restaurant, Luka Vučković, points out that this year’s prices will be increased by about fifteen percent compared to last year.
I think that we are much cheaper than neighboring Croatia, which has raised prices in tourism by up to thirty percent. My position is that it is better to raise the price than to save on quality because we have to build a destination with high quality of service, products and accommodation. We must be aware that, unfortunately, the trend of overall price increases is present throughout the world in all branches of the economy. I sincerely hope that the trend of price increases will not continue due to the overall quality of life of all citizens – said Vučković.
The increase in prices is confirmed by the president of the Budva Catering Association, Aleksandar Jovanović, who points out that the prices will be increased compared to last year by ten to 20%, but also that Budva will still remain competitive with other destinations.
That the prices in private accommodation are already higher than last year, confirms the publisher in the Old Town, Petar Antonioli, who points out that the increase amounts to about 20%. He believes that the price increase was a normal sequence because there was an increase in other prices, from energy products to everything else.
