Montenegro is preparing for one of its most visible summer music tourism projects, with EXIT bringing a line-up of major international artists to the coast across two festival locations in Ulcinj and Budva.

The programme will open on Velika Plaža in Ulcinj, where warm-up events are scheduled from 1 to 3 July, followed by the main festival programme from 3 to 6 July. The second part moves to Bečići beach in Budva, with warm-up events from 24 to 27 August and the main programme from 28 to 31 August.

The announced line-up includes some of the strongest names in global electronic and pop-dance music, including Peggy GouCharlotte de WitteHugelJohn NewmanMaceo PlexMonolinkEnrico SangiulianoRPR SoundsystemAwen and many others.

The project is being positioned as more than a festival programme. Its stated objective is to extend Montenegro’s main tourist season and strengthen the country’s position in music tourism, one of the fastest-growing segments of the global travel industry. Organisers estimate that EXIT to Montenegro could generate at least 210,000 overnight stays and more than €40 million in tourism revenue this summer.

A distinctive feature of the concept is that both festivals will be free for visitors, with registration required. VIP tickets and further programme details are expected to be announced shortly.

EXIT founder and director Dušan Kovačević said the programme brings to Montenegro artists currently at the peak of global popularity. He described electronic music as one of the strongest magnets for high-spending international tourists and noted that the line-up also includes a large number of performers from Montenegro.

The domestic segment will feature more than 50 local and regional artists, including LannaLarisMillokProximusAudiostormRayoBranko VukovićRaven TKLekka and Rudhaman.

Ulcinj’s Velika Plaža will also be promoted through a special kite-surfing programme, linking the festival with one of Montenegro’s most recognisable coastal sports destinations. In cooperation with leading kite clubs, organisers plan a kite show involving well-known riders from the region and abroad.

The project gives Montenegro a high-profile entertainment platform at a time when the country is trying to broaden its tourism offer beyond conventional beach tourism. By connecting international music, local performers, coastal destinations and active-sport content, EXIT to Montenegro is being framed as a summer product designed to attract younger, higher-spending and internationally mobile visitors.
