EPCG CEO Ivan Bulatović participated in the IV “Smart Grid PCI Summit 2025” in Ljubljana, invited by ELES and the European Commission. Speaking on the “Roundtable with CEOs” panel, he shared insights from Montenegro’s energy sector and outlined EPCG’s approach to the energy transition.
Bulatović highlighted the growing demand for new capacity connections, particularly from renewable sources, emphasizing the need for advanced infrastructure and energy storage solutions. He stressed that battery systems are central to ensuring grid stability, accelerating renewable integration, and supporting a secure transition. EPCG has already launched a tender for battery system deployment, reflecting the company’s focus on modernizing the grid.
He underlined that smart grids and energy storage are fundamental to contemporary energy development and that Montenegro must leverage its renewable potential through sustainable, systemic solutions. Bulatović stated that EPCG aims not only to follow European trends but to actively shape a future-proof electricity system that balances stability, security, and sustainability.
The panel, moderated by Frédéric Simon from Carbon Pulse, included senior energy officials from Slovenia, SEPS, and the EU DSO Entity. Bulatović’s contribution was recognized as significant due to Montenegro’s unique transition challenges and opportunities. EPCG’s participation underscores its commitment to regional and European energy dialogue, innovation, and responsible leadership in the energy transition.
