The Ćehotina river has an exceptional hydropower potential of EUR 80 million worth of annual electricity production, announced the CEO of Elektroprivreda (EPCG) Nikola Rovčanin.
According to the previous conceptual solution, as many as seven hydropower plants with a projected electricity production of 787.42 GWh per year were planned on this river.
These are hydropower plants Crkvice, Paljevina, Kataban, Zagrad, Pljevlja, Gradac and Granica. At market prices, that would give around EUR 80 million annually – wrote Rovčanin.
This is the energy treasure of the state, a new chance for development in Pljevlja and the complete revival of Gradac and Šul, small working-class towns that were predominantly displaced – he added.
