CEDIS secures €329,000 EBRD grant to support smart grid modernization

Representatives of the Montenegrin electricity distribution system (CEDIS) have signed a €329,000 grant agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The agreement was signed by CEDIS CEO Vladimir Ivanović and EBRD Montenegro Office Head Remon Zakaria.

The grant will cover the cost of hiring a consultant to provide expert support to the CEDIS SCADA – Smart Digitalization project implementation unit until project completion. The consultant will assist with procurement oversight, ensuring full compliance with EBRD procurement rules and policies, as well as monitoring contractual obligations to guarantee transparency and high-quality project execution.

CEDIS emphasized that the SCADA – Smart Digitalization project is a key step in modernizing Montenegro’s electricity distribution system. Its implementation is expected to enhance network safety and reliability, optimize management, and significantly improve service efficiency for customers.

In cooperation with EBRD, CEDIS continues to develop infrastructure that will enable the digital transformation of electricity distribution and support the sustainable development of Montenegro’s energy sector.
