Can a state-owned company bring order to the field of games of chance?

One of the novelties foreseen by the amendments to the Law on Games of Chance refers to the establishment of a state-owned company that would have a monopoly in organizing lotteries and other games.

And while in Democratic Montenegro, who are also the proponents of those changes, they see it as a way to bring order in that area, in the opposition they believe that it would open the way to new party jobs. Analysts believe that a five-year analysis of financial profitability should be done before the establishment of that company.

The lottery will be state-owned until the end of 2023. Democrat MP Momo Koprivica said that the goal is to protect consumers, children and the public interest.
