Around 245,000 tourists visited Budva during the first six months of 2026, generating nearly 800,000 overnight stays, according to preliminary data from Montenegro’s statistical office, Monstat. The results were slightly better than those recorded during the same period last year.
Budva is currently hosting approximately 44,500 visitors—an annual increase of about 3%. Private accommodation remains the most popular option, with 24,888 guests and growth of 6%. Hotels are accommodating 18,525 visitors, while hostels and campsites have recorded increases of 17% and 4%, respectively.
Serbia is Budva’s largest source market, accounting for 13% of arrivals. Visitors from the United Kingdom and Germany together represent a similar share. Local tourism officials see stronger demand from Western Europe as particularly important to Budva’s development as a year-round destination.
Tourist numbers are expected to approach 50,000 during August as the peak season continues. Improved air connectivity has also supported growth: around two million passengers travelled through Podgorica and Tivat airports in the first seven months of the year, 0.6% more than during the comparable period in 2025.
Hotel group Budvanska Rivijera also reported positive results. Its first-half revenue increased by 6%, while its financial result improved by 28%. Several of the group’s hotels are already fully booked or have only limited availability.
