Bar-Boljare highway sees increased traffic and toll rates

In the past year, 2.87 million vehicles traveled on the highway, 2.29 million in 2023, and 1.14 million in 2022.

The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and traffic was allowed the following day.

For the first seven days, tolls were free. Afterward, the toll for motorcycles is €1.50, for passenger vehicles €3.50, and for trucks and buses €17.

The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, with 20 bridges along the main route, nine bridges at the interchange ramps, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

The section includes four interchanges with toll booths, connecting the highway with existing routes: Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit on the highway is 100 kilometers per hour.
