Average salary in Montenegro reaches €1,016 in September, up 16% year-on-year

According to Montenegro’s Statistical Office (Monstat), the average net salary in September was €1,016, marking a 0.1% increase compared to August and a 15.8% rise year-on-year. The average gross salary amounted to €1,211.

With consumer prices falling by 0.1% in September, real wages recorded a 0.2% increase during the same period.

By sector, wage growth was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fishing (5%), transport and storage (1.5%), construction (1%), information and communications (1%), and wholesale and retail trade (0.6%). Smaller increases were also seen in accommodation and food services (0.5%), professional, scientific and technical activities (0.5%), mining (0.3%), public administration and defense (0.3%), and education (0.2%).

Sectors that recorded a decline in average net wages included real estate (-3.4%), other service activities (-3.0%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-2.6%), manufacturing (-1.8%), and administrative services (-1.0%), among others.
