Air Montenegro and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement aimed at significantly improving international connectivity for passengers traveling to and from Montenegro. The partnership allows both airlines to market seats on selected flights operated by the other carrier under their own flight codes, creating a wider range of routing and scheduling options within a single booking framework.

Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its code on Air Montenegro’s services linking Istanbul with Podgorica and Tivat, strengthening access to Montenegro through one of Europe’s largest global aviation hubs. At the same time, Air Montenegro will add its code to selected Turkish Airlines flights departing from Istanbul toward key long-haul and regional destinations, enabling Montenegrin passengers to connect seamlessly to a much broader international network.

This arrangement represents the first codeshare agreement signed by Air Montenegro since its establishment, marking an important milestone in the carrier’s network development strategy. By aligning with a major global airline, Air Montenegro gains access to established transfer flows, higher visibility in international booking systems, and improved appeal for both inbound tourists and outbound business travelers.

For Turkish Airlines, the agreement reinforces its regional footprint in Southeast Europe and supports feed traffic into its long-haul network via Istanbul. Both airlines expect the partnership to improve load factors, optimize route economics, and enhance overall service competitiveness without requiring immediate capacity expansion.

Executives from both carriers have emphasized that the codeshare is designed to support tourism growth, business travel, and economic links between Montenegro, Türkiye, and onward markets. As operational and commercial integration progresses, passengers are expected to benefit from coordinated schedules, simplified ticketing, and smoother transfer experiences, positioning the partnership as a practical step toward deeper airline cooperation in the region.
