Construction of a new hospital in Pljevlja

The Government of Montenegro has signed a contract for the construction of a new General Hospital (OB) in Pljevlja, with an investment of nearly €40 million. The project will commence with the development of the main design, which is expected to take six months, followed by the actual construction of the facility.

The contract was signed by Esmin Bećović, Director of the Capital Investments Administration, and Dejan Burčul, a representative of the consortium responsible for the project. Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun highlighted that the new hospital will significantly improve healthcare services and the quality of life for residents in this northern municipality.

The hospital will span 26,540 square meters, featuring 16 functional units and a capacity of 140 beds, including modern operating rooms and specialized clinics. Construction is projected to last 36 months, with work anticipated to begin in the third quarter of next year.

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić noted that this project represents a concrete step towards providing citizens with living conditions that align with European standards, addressing long-standing unmet promises. He also announced plans for several major projects aimed at revitalizing Pljevlja and encouraging residents to return.
