The local government of Bar is undertaking a responsible approach to the municipality’s future development, with plans underway for various projects to be swiftly executed, as stated by Asim Andrić, President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Councillors Club in the Bar Municipal Assembly.

Andrić highlighted several key projects in the pipeline, including the construction of an Olympic swimming pool, new roadways, playgrounds, parks, an underwater discharge system, and an upgraded water supply network in Veliki Pijesak. Other initiatives include the reconstruction of the Mirovica-Sveti Ivan road, local roads within community areas, and the renovation of King Nikola’s Castle.

In response to comments from Democrats’ MP Momčilo Leković, Andrić reassured that there is no cause for concern regarding Bar’s future.

“If you truly care about Bar’s well-being, it’s best to stay away from this municipality,” Andrić advised Leković.

He criticized Leković and his political faction for bringing the state and many local governments they oversee to the brink of dysfunction, suggesting that they would apply their ineffective policies to Bar, a city noted for its successful local governance and development.

“We appreciate your acknowledgment of Bar’s financial strength and its exceeding revenue projections. This, as we consistently assert, is the result of diligent and responsible local management. We are grateful for your praise, particularly since it comes from the political opposition you represent in Bar,” Andrić commented.

He emphasized that projects labeled as state-level initiatives were also local endeavors, funded and spearheaded by the Bar Municipality. Examples include the Sutomore Square, the Day Center, the road over Sutorman and through Mrkojevići, and the gymnasium.

“Without the Municipality of Bar financing project development and expropriation, none of these projects would have even begun,” Andrić asserted.

He also noted that Leković had not initiated or completed any projects in Bar, either as an MP or as part of the ruling party at the national level.

“You had four years to make a difference. Unlike your ineffective approach to state management, which will unfortunately affect future generations, the local government in Bar is responsibly planning for ongoing municipal development,” Andrić concluded.
