Prime Minister Milojko Spajić responded to President Jakov Milatović’s recent statement, in which Milatović claimed that inflation in Montenegro during the first half of the year was twice as high as in the Eurozone. Spajić sought to calm concerns, assuring citizens that there is no need for what he described as “senseless panic” fueled by irresponsible individuals.

“In June, we achieved the lowest inflation rate since October 2021! Our focus is on the real economy, not on populism. Starting in September, the government will prevent excessive profit margins in retail chains, ensuring that all increases in October under the Europe Now 2 program will be fully sustainable for our citizens,” Spajić stated on the social network X.
